POSITION SUMMARY
The Security Systems Specialist installs, configures, tests and maintains the integrity of all life safety systems. The incumbent performs inventory, assessment and configuration tasks on systems hardware and software. The Security Systems Specialist maintains up to date records of work flow and provides oversight for low voltage technician and vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Works with project team to coordinate building system layouts and perform inspections of building, grounds and equipment to ensure work is completed according to standards, specifications and best practices.
• Coodinates daily work flow operations of assigned team and/or vendors; ensures that preventive maintenance tasks and service call responses are performed efficiently and accurately.
• Provides and reviews assigned work orders using work order tracking system (NIMBUS).
• Gathers quotes from vendors, as needed, for various systems and components; notifies department Director when goods and/or services are fully received, so final invoicing can be processed.
• Performs advance level troubleshooting of all life safety systems to determine root cause and system failures.
• Performs research to stay abreast of current and emerging related technologies and product enhancements.
• Performs on-site quality inspections to validate work performed by authorized vendors, low voltage tech team and other support personnel to ensure project completion.
• Maintains inventory of all in-use equipment, service records, and warranty information.
• Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to apply, recommend and implement advanced technology integration concepts to improve organization-wide efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to apply knowledge of electronic theory and components.
• Skilled in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronic units.
• Proficient in system administration, to include evaluation/selection, installation and maintenance processes; applicable systems include fire alarms, burglary alarms, access control, CCTV, intercoms/clocks, AED's and other network devices.
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology or related security or engineering field preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
• Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation, or the ability to get to off-site meetings.
• Industry network certification required; ASIS-PSP preferred.
• Georgia Low Voltage License must be held at date of hire or issued within one year of hire.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Five years related experience in Low Voltage Technology required.
• Experience with Milestone (VMS), Lenel, Rauland, Notifier and Bosch systems is preferred.

Strength: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, gripping, feeling, seeing/observing and carrying. Must exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or over 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; Regular exposure to weather, including heat, cold, dampness, and/or humidity.
Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Will require travel to multiple sites. Extended hours may be required depending on each situation. Must understand and have full knowledge of the occupational hazards in using power tools and equipment and of necessary safety precautions. Requires extensive safety training and/or protective devices.
