Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor and Production Manager the Hatchery Worker performs all the duties necessary to incubate fertilized eggs for hatching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (is not all-inclusive)

• Load chicks into separator
• Receive and unload eggs from the delivery truck
• Place eggs on trays
• Load trays into incubators
• Transfer eggs from incubators to hatchers
• Dump product waste
• Wash all equipment
• Clean and sanitize equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Must be able to maintain quality control standards
• Knowledge of reading and writing the English language
• Ability to count and record numbers accurately
• Ability to adapt to change
• Ability to work well with others
• Must be able to push heavy equipment
• Must be willing to handle live poultry
• Must be able to understand and meet deadlines

Physical Demands

• Work is performed in a consistently changing environment hot and humid to air-conditioned rooms
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors
• Requires the ability to tolerate unpleasant odors associated with eggs and poultry of various quality
• Normal corrective vision range, ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
• Frequently required to stand and walk
• Requires full range of body motion including handling, lifting, and moving heavy boxes and equipment
• This position may require heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
