Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician, reporting to the Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager, will inspect produced and procured foods to ensure adherence to company standards, regulatory body requirements, and/or both. Responsibilities include conducting tests, documenting defects, analyzing products, and monitoring procedures. This position requires the ability to stand for 8-10 hours daily in a cold environment (39&degree;F).

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

• Monitor the food production process and product by sensory, weight control, and analytical methods to maintain product consistency and comply with established specifications including color, moisture, pH, weight, size, etc.
• Hold team members accountable to FSQA standards and procedures.
• Evaluate all finished product for compliance
• Perform and document all testing with precision and accuracy
• Identify, investigate, and communicate out-of-compliance situations and product standards to leadership team and the FSQA Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• 1+ year(s) of experience in food manufacturing production is preferred
• Proficiency with computers and software (i.e. G-Suite, Slack, industry specific software, etc.)
• Excellent communication, and interpersonal speaking skills
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Able to lift, push, or pull up to twenty-five (25) pounds
• Able to stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
• Comfortable working in hot and cold temperature environments in kitchen, warehouse, and cooler
• Must be fluent in English (verbal and written)
