POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Designer supports the brand in developing seasonal design concepts, color palettes, and Quarterly Assortment Boards while taking ownership of assigned product development activities from concept through sample approval. This role partners with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Technical Design teams to help bring innovative, brand-right products to market while adhering to development calendar deadlines. The Associate Designer is responsible for driving assigned projects forward, managing deliverables, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness throughout the development process.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Technical Design teams to develop new products, providing detailed product information and technical flat sketches for tech packs.
  • Creates and maintains Quarterly Assortment Boards, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Manages multiple seasons at varying stages of development while meeting critical calendar deadlines.
  • Assists in creating Seasonal Design Concept Presentations, Fashion Stories, Color Palettes, and Print Presentations through trend analysis and market research.
  • Re-colors prints as needed to support seasonal stories and design direction.
  • Supports fabric and sourcing development by managing New Fabric Development Charts and reviewing strike-offs, samples, and design documentation.
  • Assists in tracking product development activities, including sample reviews, approvals, and development status updates.
  • Maintains product information and development updates within PLM systems.
  • Prepares rendered flat sketches for presentations and assortment boards.
  • Participates in fittings and sample reviews to support design intent, product quality, and fit.
  • Utilizes AI tools to support print development, silhouette testing, and design efficiencies.
  • Maintains awareness of market trends and the plus-size customer while contributing ideas for new product opportunities.
  • Attends assortment meetings, design presentations, fittings, and other meetings supporting the design and development process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 3+ years of apparel design experience with exposure to product development.
  • Knowledge of apparel construction, fabrics, sourcing, and product development processes.
  • Ability to develop commercial, brand-appropriate color and print direction.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AI tools, Keynote, Microsoft Office, and PLM systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
