Job Description: Lycée International de Houston (LIH) is seeking an energetic and motivated Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator who thrives in a multicultural environment, fosters students’ language acquisition and cultural understanding, and contributes to the broader school community. This position involves teaching Spanish across multiple grade levels, including IB Spanish (SL/HL) and/or AP Spanish, following the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards, and preparing students to become global citizens. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Experience teaching Spanish across multiple grade levels (K–12) in an independent, private, or college-preparatory school setting Experience teaching IB Spanish (SL/HL) and/or AP Spanish Native or near-native fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing, and listening) Strong knowledge of TEKS standards and advanced language curriculum planning Demonstrated proficiency integrating technology into language instruction Ability to manage multi-level classrooms with students of varying language proficiency Strong professional references attesting to instructional quality and student engagement Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Flexibility to support school life (extracurriculars, advising, language labs, etc.) Legal authorization to work in the United States The Spanish Teacher is a multi-grade and planning-focused position responsible for delivering rigorous, engaging Spanish instruction while supporting curriculum development and program growth.
