Summary:
Assessing and treating patients with complex wounds, ostomies, or continence conditions. Will work closely with members of patient care teams to ensure that personalized treatment plans are followed correctly in order to prevent future infection or injury. Common types of complex patient wounds include: ulcers, burns, pressure injuries, diabetic foot wounds and skin tears. Before the patient is discharged, you educate patients and families on care practices and methods to promote wellness and healing.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the unique needs of each patient to determine appropriate treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on best practices to promote healing and wellness
- Track treatments and patient progress according to HIPAA guidelines
- Coordinate with supervising physicians to ensure smooth recovery processes
- Fulfill other nursing duties as required
Qualifications:
- RN or LPN License
- Previous experience with wound care preffered
