As a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer, you will collaborate with experienced professionals, including Design, Product, Methods, Quality, and Supplier Development Engineers, as well as Procurement Professionals, to help our external supply base execute our externally fabricated components in a collaborative way that sets them up for success. This includes commodities such as machined parts, springs, seals, filters, and more. This role combines hands-on engineering work with the ability to represent Moog through our supply chain in a collaborative and communicative fashion. You will support both new product development and mature production programs. Working within Supply Chain, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help drive efficiency and innovation in modern fabrication environments. This role does require up to 25% travel, with additional local travel needs on a frequent basis.

As a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
  • Take guidance from the Strategic Sourcing Manager and Supplier Development Engineer on strategic initiatives with our external supply base
  • Participate in the strategic effort to onboard a second Virtual Factory for machined components
  • Assist the Supplier Development Engineer in the effort to find new high-volume suppliers for our anticipated business growth
  • Review supplier CNC programs, digital work instructions, inspection techniques, and tooling specifications for compliance with the Moog drawing and quality flow-downs
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Development Engineer to understand the specific capabilities of our critical and strategic suppliers, specifically including their understanding of Moog's deburr requirements
  • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Work closely with vendors to resolve technical concerns and improve external manufacturing operations
To be considered for the Supplier Manufacturing Engineer role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering plus two years' relevant experience
  • -OR- Associates degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering plus six years' relevant experience
  • -OR- a high school diploma or equivalent with ten years' relevant experience
  • Strong foundational knowledge of machining, deburring, and inspection techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Strong communication skills
It'd be great if you also had:
  • Certifications in lean, manufacturing, supply chain, or other related area
  • Familiarity with ERP and MRP systems
  • Knowledge of GD&T, precision machining, and advanced material

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $80,000.00-$110,000.00 Hourly

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
