Summary of position:
To enhance the effectiveness of educational services for students with special education or mental health service needs through consultation with families of students enrolled in BCIU operated programs and/or Berks County School Districts.


Job Responsibilities (see attached description for additional details):

• Serves as liaison between home, school, and community resources and provides referral and follow-up to such resources.
• Assist families in applying for medical assistance or other community/governmental supports.
• Coordinate the information and efforts of clinics and private therapist working with students, helping parents to understand their child's development and disability.
• Coordinate and serve as a member of multidisciplinary teams as requested.
• Provide support to teachers and aides through consultation, group work with students, participation in parent conferences and IEP meetings.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Worker and school social work certification required.
• License in Social Work required.
• Ability to work independently, make work-related decisions, and exercise good judgment
  in prioritizing tasks.
• Experience in counseling, working with families, accessing mental health services, and
  familiarity with special education.
• A working knowledge of community agencies and government assistance programs.

Schedule:
Full-time, 35 hours/week, 10 months/year

Salary:

• Bachelor = $51,419 to $80,190
• Bach+15 credits = $52,136 to $80,915
• Bach+24 credits = $52,927 to $81,715
• Masters = $62,870 to $92,455
• Mast+15 credits = $63,563 to $93,155
• Mast+30 credits = $64,255 to $93,855
• Mast+45 credits = $65,641 to $95,255
• Mast+60 credits = $66,877 to $96,505
