Medical Writer - PRI

Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Medical Writer to join the PRI team. This position is located in our Paramus, NJ or New York, NY office, with three days on-site (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and a team flex day) and two days remote.

Job Overview:

The Medical Writer is responsible for contributing to the development of high-quality medical content that meets the client's objectives. This includes derivative content development in collaboration with scientific leads. The Medical Writer is responsible for the quality, scientific and medical accuracy, and timeliness of assigned projects. This role will also assist with submissions of work to a client's specific system (e.g. Veeva).

Responsibilities:

Repurpose client-supplied materials for use in promotional and educational digital programs for healthcare professionals, including the development of copy for promotional drivers (banner and text ads, emails)

Support in the creation of content for various therapeutic areas, including literature searches, creation of outlines, and writing content for use across varied delivery platforms (digital, live, virtual, and print)

Deliver projects that consistently meet the agreed-upon objectives

Assess and ensure clinical accuracy of all content through careful review of source materials, including medical and scientific journals

Assist on calls with clients to kick off projects, take notes, review status, and address client needs/requests

Prepare content for and participate in client medical/legal/regulatory reviews as needed

Maintain an up-to-date understanding of client-specific requirements for MLR (e.g. Veeva) submissions

Develop effective, collaborative working relationships with fellow employees, clients, faculty, and vendors

Financial Accountability:

Complete timesheets accurately and on time

Complete and submit expense reports on time

Skills & Experience:

Degree in a health-related field required

One year prior scientific communications agency experience a plus

Ability to work across multiple projects and accounts simultaneously

Strong organization and project management capabilities

Meticulous attention to detail, and understanding of medical terminology

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt approaches according to the needs of clients and teams

Team player able to work independently and collaboratively with scientific team and other departments

Advanced computer literacy necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications such as PowerPoint and Word, Google Suite such as Slides, Docs in addition to online medical resource searching (eg Ovid, Medline, PubMed, etc.)

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $98,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.
