Licensed Esthetician
Position Summary
The Nail Technician is a hands-on spa service professional responsible for delivering exceptional nail care services that enhance guest relaxation, wellness, and the overall resort spa experience. This role focuses on providing professional manicure and pedicure services while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and guest care.
Nail Technicians support the spa’s success by creating a welcoming environment, promoting spa services, and recommending retail products that enhance guest results. This role helps uphold Mountain Lake Lodge’s commitment to exceptional guest service and a serene luxury spa experience. This is a contract position, earning commission plus gratuities off all services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Spa Operations & Guest Experience:
• Perform professional nail services including manicures, pedicures, nail shaping, cuticle care, polish application, and nail treatments within scope of licensure.
• Maintain a clean, safe, relaxing, and well-presented spa environment.
• Sanitize tools, equipment, and workspaces in accordance with Virginia state regulations and resort standards.
• Provide personalized nail care consultations and recommend treatments to guests.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by anticipating guest needs and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
• Support spa programming including wedding parties, celebrations, and wellness retreats.
Retail & Revenue Support
• Recommend nail care products and enhancements to support guest results and drive retail revenue.
• Maintain knowledge of spa retail products and current trends.
• Assist with merchandising, restocking, and maintaining retail displays.
• Contribute to achieving daily and monthly spa revenue goals through service excellence and product recommendations.
Team Collaboration & Professional Standards
• Collaborate with spa team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Attend required training, team meetings, and continuing education sessions.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations.
• Uphold Mountain Lake Lodge values professionalism, integrity, and guest service excellence.
Qualifications
• Valid Nail Technician or Cosmetology license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Experience performing manicures and pedicures in a spa, salon, or resort environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently in a guest-focused environment.
• Sales or retail experience is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, holidays, and seasonal peak periods.

Work Environment
This role operates within a luxury mountain resort spa environment and requires:
• Standing for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
• Consistent interaction with guests and team members.

Spa Supervisor and Director of Retail, Recreation & Spa.
