Job Title Summer 2026 Engineering Internship – San Diego, CA What You'll Do Assist in the design and development of engineering projects Gain hands‑on experience with PLS‑CADD, POLE, and TOWER software for modeling and analysis Support the drafting team in creating detailed technical drawings Help prepare construction packages, including plans and specifications Participate in the review of fabrication drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards Learn and apply industry standards and specifications in project work Perform design calculations and assist in creating project reports Contribute to the design of foundations for various structures Assist in the design of structural steel components Participate in the analysis of lattice towers and steel poles Attend and present at Lunch & Learn sessions and internal presentations Work closely with other ASEC Engineers in a collaborative and supportive environment Assist in communicating with clients to gather requirements and provide project updates What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering Professional internship experience in the Power Delivery Industry is preferred Successful passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and Engineer in Training (EIT) status is preferred Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong written communication skills and the ability to articulate outcomes to clients and team members Salary Range Minimum compensation for this position is $22 per hour, negotiated based on geographic location, skills, and certifications.
