Job Description

We are partnering with a leading Randstad client in Washington, DC, seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for a 12+ month contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing complex Corporate Security projects focused on security hardening of Amtrak facilities, including the implementation of wedge barriers, cameras, bollards, guard quarters, fencing, and related measures.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with CS Design and Construction Sr. Program Managers to initiate, monitor, and successfully close security projects.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external Amtrak stakeholders.
  • Develop communication plans, CONOPS, schedules, identify cost buildup, perform risk management, and other project management activities.
  • Work at the Corporate Security facility in Washington, DC, with approximately 10% to 25% fieldwork wearing PPE as required.
  • Manage contracts, understand construction management, and demonstrate independence in the role.
Essential Functions:

Develop comprehensive process documentation. Create CONOPS, Post Orders, and Communications plans for turnover to yards, stations, or sites. Develop project schedules, baselines, and effectively manage risks. Create statements of work or request for proposals for security hardening projects. Monitor Amtrak designers and contractors to ensure adherence to contract terms. Develop lessons learned documents for future projects. Manage change requests and validate against contract terms and conditions. Review and assess contract terms, developing contract matrices to monitor deliverables. Implement automated processes for reporting mechanisms, dashboards, and presentations for financial performance. Develop and implement processes for evaluating impact assessments and cost estimating.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from PMI.
  • Detail-oriented with effective project management skills.
  • Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have work authorization in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with construction projects and contract management.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects with high customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in using Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Experience working on Transportation and Federal projects.
  • Previous experience with WMATA or other transit agencies preferred.

  • Proficient in communicating financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Precise and articulate when describing financial and project issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently manage multiple projects.
