Government Contracts Manager
HYBRID Schedule - Columbia, MD

A growing medical device company is seeking a Government Contracts Manager to build and lead its government contracting function. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who wants to own a function, not just maintain it.
The Role
This person will manage the full lifecycle of government contracts, ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and other federal and state procurement regulations, and serve as the primary liaison between the company and government contracting officers. The role also supports compliant participation in government sales channels, including VA and DoD, through reseller and distributor partnerships.
Responsibilities

• Manage government contracts from proposal through closeout, including negotiation, execution, renewals, and amendments
• Oversee reseller and distribution agreements supporting public sector sales
• Develop compliant and competitive pricing strategies
• Maintain DAPA schedules, contract vehicles, and required registrations (SAM.gov, etc.)
• Monitor contract performance, deliverables, and reporting requirements
• Conduct internal compliance reviews to identify and mitigate risk
• Build contract management tools, templates, and scalable processes
• Train and advise internal teams on government sales, pricing rules, and contract requirements
• Obtain and maintain relevant certifications (889, TAA/BAA)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law or Public Administration
• 5+ years of government contract management experience
• Strong command of FAR/DFARS, government pricing, and procurement regulations
• Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or product/commodity-based industries
• Ability to work independently and build structure in a developing function
• Confident advising stakeholders on compliance risk and limitations
