Accounting & Payroll Assistant (entry level)

Location: Florence, Alabama

Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation Company is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting & Payroll Assistant to support daily accounting operations using QuickBooks Online (QBO). This entry-level role focuses on payroll data entry, bookkeeping support, and maintaining accurate financial records.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their accounting career and looking to gain hands-on experience in real-world business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Support

• Enter payroll data into QuickBooks Online based on approved payroll information.
• Assist with processing payroll entries and maintaining payroll records.
• Help prepare payroll reports and supporting documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information.

Basic Accounting Duties

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable data entry.
• Categorize transactions accurately under proper accounts.
• Help maintain organized financial records and files.
• Assist with monthly closing support and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles (education or coursework acceptable).
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is a plus but not required (training provided).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working with Excel and data entry.
• Ability to stay organized and manage routine tasks efficiently.
• Dependable and willing to learn.

PAY RATE: $14/HR

SHIFT: 9AM-5PM Monday-Friday
